About Shubhkal
Shubhkal is a free, Hindi-first Hindu calendar for families in India and around the world. The name means auspicious time, and helping you find it quickly and clearly is what the site is for.
What can you find on Shubhkal?
Every day, Shubhkal shows the full panchang: tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vaara, along with sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset. Alongside it you will find:
- Rahu kaal, yamaganda, gulika kaal and abhijit muhurat for the day
- Day and night choghadiya
- Timings for 20 Indian cities and for cities in the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia
- Lists of festivals and vrats through the year
- Muhurat lists for important occasions
Why did we build a Hindi-first panchang?
Many panchang websites are slow, crowded with advertisements, or hard to read on a phone. We wanted something different: a clear page that opens fast, works well on a mobile, and speaks to you first in Hindi, with a full English version for those who prefer it.
Shubhkal is made for families who want to check today's tithi before puja, plan a vrat, or find a good time for a new beginning, whether they live in Lucknow or London, Pune or Toronto.
What is coming next to Shubhkal?
We are working on more of the tools families often ask for:
- Baby names based on the birth nakshatra
- Rashi and nakshatra calculators
- Kundali (birth chart)
- Devotional texts for daily prayer
What principles guide Shubhkal?
If you spot a time that looks wrong or have a suggestion, we would love to hear from you through our contact page.
- Our own calculations: every time is computed on our server, not copied from elsewhere.
- A transparent method: our methodology page explains exactly how the panchang is calculated.
- No advertisements: pages stay clean and load quickly.
- Your data stays yours: we do not sell personal data to anyone.
