Privacy policy
Shubhkal is built to give you a panchang, not to collect information about you. This policy explains, in plain language, what little data is involved when you use the site and what choices you have. Last updated: 3 November 2026
Do I need an account to use Shubhkal?
No. There is no sign-up, login or account of any kind. You can use every part of the site without telling us your name, email address or phone number. We also do not show advertisements, so no advertising networks track you here.
Does Shubhkal use Google Analytics?
Not at present. As of 3 November 2026 the site loads no analytics or tracking script of any kind; we checked the live pages to confirm this.
If we switch on Google Analytics 4 in future, we will update this section first. It would count pages viewed, approximate location (city or country) and device type, using cookies set by Google, and you could block it through your browser settings or Google's opt-out add-on.
What does the site store on my device?
Shubhkal saves two small things in your browser's local storage: your theme choice and a simple visit counter, which decides when to show a hint about adding the site to your home screen. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Is my city or location sent anywhere?
No. On country pages, the city picker runs entirely in your browser. Choosing a city simply shows the timings for that city; your choice is not sent to us.
Does Shubhkal work offline, and what do the servers record?
A small service worker keeps only the site's icons, an offline notice page and built style and script files on your device. Panchang pages themselves always come from the network, because their times change every day; without a connection you see the offline notice instead.
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers record technical request details (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) in logs used for security and operation. We do not use these logs to identify visitors. Vercel's own privacy policy explains how long it keeps them.
What happens when I share on WhatsApp?
Our WhatsApp share buttons are simple links. Nothing happens until you tap one; when you do, WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message that you can edit or discard before sending. Your use of WhatsApp is covered by its own privacy policy.
Do you sell or share my personal data, and what happens to my emails?
No. We do not sell, rent or trade data to anyone. We do not collect names, accounts or phone numbers through the site.
If you write to contact@shubhkal.com, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Children's privacy
Shubhkal is a general-audience site suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and no part of the site asks for it.
Changes to this policy and how to contact us
